Just wondering if there happens to be a script floating around anywhere that does an FFX-style (sphere-grid-like) level up system.

I can remember that somebody made that once. I think it was SephirothSpawn. Have you tried looking on http://hbgames.org/forums or http://dubealex.com ?

Debealex has one, I'm sure I saw it. I tried looking for it, to get you a link, but I can't find it.
