these were made with Gimp not photoshop that may be why they are not as good

Something tells me...your brightness setting is at 100 percent, as is contrast. Correct?

i've always used gimp and i really didnt feel like learning photoshop so i am sticking with gimp for now and i have no idea bout the brightness

You can do great art in both Gimp AND Photoshop. It doesn't depend on which program you use. Also what you posted is quite basic. :-\

yea it is basic i am still learning much this is my best one though

The GIMP is just as god as Photoshop!  Possibly even better!

Also why not creating own art? Why only using pics and using different effects/blendings/etc. when you can create art completely out of scratch that looks even better? Sadly I have seen too many edits and too less completely original PS/GIMP art. :-\
