Title: Respect The Fox
Post by: Demon X on November 24, 2006, 02:57:18 AM
How many of you RPG makers and fans use and like Firefox?

I think it is the greatest browser ever made, much better than IE!

I have been looking for a way to help Firefox users, and THIS (http://www.dxgames.co.uk/firefox) is what I have come up with. Enjoy!

Yeah, Firefox > IE by far.
Title: Re: Respect The Fox
Post by: Crankeye on November 24, 2006, 06:20:48 AM
Explained in PHP:

for ($i = 1; $i >= count($your_values); $i++){
  if ($your_values[$i] = "security" || $your_values[$i] = "speed" || $your_values[$i] = "versatility" || $your_values[$i] = "open_source"  ){
     $your_choice = "firefox";
  }else if ( $your_values = "" ){
     $your_choice = "ie";
  }
}

Firefox is just better than IE. ::) Sadly Opera owns both of them. Oh no... wait... I use it, why is that supposed to be sad?! :D

EDIT:

Here is a screenshot with two vital informations and the marked one is my favorite. ;D

http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/7906/snap65vt9.png

But hackers attack IE, barely they attack Firefox, so it's still better than IE. ::)

Here's the site where I go that from:

again I have to express myself IE(configed)>Opera>Firefox
Title: Re: Respect The Fox
Post by: Roph on November 24, 2006, 02:55:00 PM
~_~

Thoroughly configured IE = Maybe as safe as on out-of-the-box firefox.

Install a few extensions and FF powers ahead. No matter how much stuff you tack on to IE, it's still, well, IE.

Quote from: This Skin's CSS/* I effing hate IE, let's do a workaround */
* html #shadow-l {
   float: left;
}

* html #shadow-r {
   float: right;
}
/* End of IE Workaround */

Quote from: This Skin's HTML// The main content should go here.  A table is used because IE 6 just can't handle a div.
function template_main_below()
{

Opera is probably better, but I stick with FF becuase of all the extensions and themes I use.

IE(configured)>Opera>Firefox

It's just a rumor. ::) The truth is:

Opera>IE(configured)>Firefox

But as hackers don't attack Firefox but IE, the best choice is:

Opera>Firefox>IE(configured)

::) YOU gave the link to the site that proves it.

Opera sounds good but the name is a bit sissy and so is the icon...

My websites toolbar works in IE and Firefox. Not in Opera...

Myth: This website is very informative and factual.
Reality: This website is very deceitful especially in its choosing of facts. Notice how older versions are compared to the newer versions. Ie. when they say 1.x firefox vs the newest version of Opera.

Nothing against Opera, but that website is just propaganda. I wouldn't believe any thing it says about IE, Firefox, or any browser.

What's with all this Opera talk?

The title of the thread is "Respect The Fox"! And don't bother signing up to the RTF forums just to say how much you HATE IE like someone from another forum did...

(Sorry if that sounds bossy)

It's not an Apple product so it's not overrated  :lol:

And it is the most popular choice for Linux, which is 195.7 times better than Windows
Title: Re: Respect The Fox
Post by: Blizzard on November 25, 2006, 02:26:16 PM
Sadly I have to say if it really was 195.7 times better than Windoze, it would be sold and a lot of cash would be earned. If it's so great, why are all the people using Windoze AND ARE PAYING for it when they can have a free Linux? Use common sense.

I WISH Unixes were better than Windoze, but they are not... :'(

IE is overrated. ::) You say it's safe to watch up porn sites on Firefox. You know what you just said? You said, Firefox is more secure than IE.

Firefox: 48.3 %
MS Internet Explorer: 46.9 %

OMG FF WINS

Who cares about or is stupid enough to use netscape, which is basically firefox but slower and less featured.

Either way, that has 0.1%

Netscape is infitely better due to it NOT displaying pages WRONG.

Netscape is made by AOL. You know, that company that sucks up all your money through a vaccum cleaner? Think!

It uses IE's rendering engine for some stuff, other times it uses the gecko engine, which is what firefox uses.

When you see firefox rendering things wrong, it's likely because that particular site is using dogdy (and non-standard) code to force it to look OK in IE. Though when a browser comes along that renders that code "right", it looks broken, as the code itself is broken.

Somebody who knows what they're doing can get the User-Agent from the browser and load different code accordingly. If your browser is IE or FF, you'll be getting different HTML from this forum to make it look right in both.

I wonder if there is a way to trick sites into thinking they are being viewed in IE...

That would be awesome!

Sure, just use a user-agent switcher. Opera has one built in by default.

No this is something tht requires Arcums Razor to answer. You know, the simpliest answer is right. The simple answer is Firefox sucks out loud. And most people don't have the balls to admit it.

But it doesn't REALLY work. At least not in any earlier version than 9.0, because every page that ZOMG CHECKED MY OS AND BROWSER showed Opera, even though I've had it to cloak itself as IE. :-\
