Title: [RESOLVED] Another map change question
Post by: ExpatJapan on November 19, 2006, 05:10:00 AM
Hi, I used the search function, but it's highly possible I just overlooked the right search terms. If that's the case I apologize.

Is there a simple way to make all the squares on the side of a map teleport to corresponding squares on another map? Without setting them up individually.

Or for the sake of simplicity, is there a simple way to make a group of squares teleport to ONE square on another map? Without making a new event for each one?

Pictures are worth a thousand words right?

I just started RPMXP yesterday, but I read several tutorials on here and dubealex and I wanna say thanks, especially to the user: Constance. His noob tutorial was super easy to understand and told me just what I wanted to know right at first: What everything is! It got me rolling in like 10 minutes. Also shouts to Blizzard and Dwarra for their great mapping tutorials!

Nice to meet you all,

copy and paste?

he is right, simpy just copy one (the first one you made) and everytime you click on a new spot press ctrl+V.. its faster hte right clicking each square and pressing paste. This shouldnt take longer then a min or so.

Haha you know, I'd been trying for a good time to figure this out. Then as soon as I posted this, I started working on other stuff with it off my mind and it hit me... I'd used copy and paste with pages of the same character before... so I tried it with a new event and... problem solved!

[edit] haha indeed! Thank you very much! :)

Before going with that, I want to add another possible solution. This event here will make this map wpork just like you need it, only be sure to put the player not at the edge when teleporting him into the map. Of course you can even improve that and require the player to be faced into the direction out of the screen. And be sure to make it parallel process. That should do the trick.

(Yes, the map might look plain, but it's a plain sandy desert. ::))
