Title: [RESOLVED] Can walk over stuff that should be impassable (I read FAQ)
Post by: Corvus Sangreal on November 12, 2006, 10:32:45 PM
Hi. I work in RPG maker XP. I read the FAQ about dummie tiles. But what if I put there a trump in second layer. And mushrooms in third layer. I don't have enough tiles for a dummie tile. And if I put mushrooms in second layer I won't see them. Btw. I have an event on that tile (message, nothing more). I tryed to put trump in any layer, with mushrooms graphic in event, but it is passable again. What did I do wrong?

I don't think a screenshot is needed. I want mushrooms on top (3rd layer, upper layer). Below (2nd layer, middle layer) it is a tree trump, it doesn't matter what it is, it is matter that by itself it is impassable, and mushrooms are passable. So My char can walk over the trump. And I don't want that. I want that tile to be impassable. How to do it?

I tried to change passability of mushrooms in database, but whatever I do in it, it doesn't change anything in game. I'm using Sunny Forest tileset and I'm sure I changed the same set in database.

edited: Ups, I'm sorry, not trump, I'm talking about trunk (stump, log). Sorry!!

Do I need to do something with priorities? I don't know what they do.

if its a single tile, make it with an event , and make the event always on top. It should work that way.

Nope. That way stump is passable and mushrooms are levitating above hero.

What complications about simple thing such as rotten stump with mushrooms on it...

go into database and on the top where the TREE TRUNK with the hole in is NEAR THE MIDDLE and UNDER THE TWO PILLARS there shouls be two blank tiles change 1 to IMPASSIBLE then click OK go onto the third Layer and where the trunk is situated click on the blank tile you set to impassible and place it on top so you shouls have:

1st layer GRASS
2nd layer TRUNK
3rd layer IMPASSIBLE TILE

test it out

I thought about this stump (in attachment), not about that big log. And if I do what you said I won't have enough layers for mushrooms.  :-\
