It's shit, has DRM built in at the kernel level, the aero interface is retardedly bloated (my computer isn't even close to being able to run aero but I can emulate it smoothly on XP with 3rd party programs fine) and they're trying to drop GDI (the interface alot of common programs use to draw their windows to the screen)

The DRM thing is gonna be insane. MS is siding with MPAA and the RIAA, and if they have their way, we will have to buy every song and movie, once for each of our protable players, once for each of our computers, and once for the disc players in the house. By including HDCP (etc.) in the internals of the OS, Microsoft gives these corporations the power to choose when, where, and how we listen and watch WHAT WE ALREADY BOUGHT AND PAID FOR.

With all the "bling bling" turned off, it's basically XP :/

I'm even amazed I actually ever got XP, I usually use Linux anyway, but for gaming and things I can't run with Linux I use WinXP, Usually I'd stick with 98, but my mother needs XP so -.-

WinXP is most compatible Mac is the best for games (i tinks) andn vista is good for a good pc. My Vista looks amazing with everything turned on, and It works as smooth as a babys ass (I know, I just touched one)

You're clearly a noob and don't know what you're doing. MACS are the best for games? Blizzard was exaggerating yeah, but from a clean install, Vista can take up 10GB.

Aside from visuals (which are universally regarded as a massive bloat), it has nothing extra going for it. It's basically a downgrade from XP; it does the same but it's slower, less efficient, is trying to drop established interfaces for programs and has DRM right to the core :/

The only way they're gonna get computer users who actually know a thing or two about what they're doing to use Vista is when newer games start to come out which use DirectX10, which is a Vista exclusive.

Technically win2k is the best, as it's the leanest windows that uses the much NT kernel. I use XP as the extra ram usage is minimal and I use programs that require XP.

Bleh..... If I could get away with it I'd still be using Windows 95. Because Windows 95 owns EVERYTHING! (Except Thor)

Not really, it's hardly very stable. Even your CD drive having trouble reading a CD can crash the OS.

I'm totally gonna have 2 seperate computers.  One with XP and one with Vista.  Vista because I can get Halo 2 and destroy teh Xbox Live players who use the Xbox, because they think the Xbox controller OWNS the mouse and keyboard.

I use Windows XP because I use some WinXP based programs.
I also use linux for the same reason as why I use WinXP.

I probably will use Windows Vista though I will most certainly use it for a very short while if it sucks as much as Windows ME.
Well... I most likely will use it because of games.

Oh, and one thing. Copy protection can be circumvented.
If it is too troublesome or I "can't" do it at that moment I simply won't by the product. (Or get a refund)

I use linux when I dont want to get owned, and windowz when I want to play games. The new windows is going to have a *nix backend but I'm sure it going to be like every other microsoft product. Slow, vunerable, with practically no updates.

It doesn't matter what they do to windows, Macintosh simply reigns over windows in nearly every category excluding their organization skills. I personally think that having the icon scroll bar was a bitter mistake.
Yet back on topic, I generally only use Windows to surf the internet so I don't get any viruses on my main professional game designing computer.

Vista is the worst OS ever. Let me sign away my soul to Microsoft for a crummy OS which uses way to many system resources to be valuable. Not to mention lets encrypt my hard drive so I can't ever decide to move my hardrive to another computer after lets say, a hardware failure, I'm unable to do so. Or even lets install DRM on the hardware level, besides, I dont ever want to change my computer. Microsoft knows me better. They know when and how I should change my system, and I should only be aloud to modify my system if they say so. Big Brother knows best.
