I'm kind of curious to know who else here has actually played this game. It was on Sega CD, and was a tactical RPG, but hugely underrated. Better than Shining Force and Final Fantasy Tactics IMO, mainly because you could choose between four different leaders, and you there were so many choices for troops, not to mention the whole alignment factor involved as well.
I didn't know anyone actually owned a Sega CD.
I don't know why we had one, I never actually played anything on it except for this game. The fact that the Sega CD was such a horrible platform is the sole reason this game never got popular.
Is it in the Shining Force series? I know that Dark Wizard is a popular class name among characters in the SF games, and when you mentioned it was on a Sega system I couldn't help but wonder...
No, it isn't. I'll post some screenshots later, although I know too many people aren't interested very much, they still may want to see some screenshots.
I am interested. ;D
I am also most interested in this.
A few random screenshots. Battles can be animated or text based, but the animations aren't that great, and the on-map animations from text based are pretty cool sometimes.
It doesn't look that great from the screens I guess, but I think it's pretty fun.
Obviously whoever you decide to be, will be red, and the enemy is blue.
Also, you can change classes. Humans, dwarves, elves, hobbits can change after level five, and monsters change after 10 I think. And you can change several times.

Unfortunately, my rom of this won't work after the first map. :-\
Those look suspiciously similar to the SNES Ogre Battle graphics.
They were both released the same year, so I'm not sure who copied off who. ^-^

At first glance I was inclined to disagree, but I guess you're kinda right. Even so, this game looks pretty cool.
They really do! Those are hawkmen and gryphons!!
