Title: battle backgrounds?
Post by: chaos_killa on September 29, 2006, 02:35:02 AM
i'm sure im being lazy and the command is right there, but since i've now setup my Night/Day system, can i change the battle bg's? U know, like changing the "fields" bg from a sunny sky to night one? so it looks real, or realer than fake.
What about panoramas? can i change those too at certain times?

Yes, there are commands for it: "Play BGM" and "Change map settings". Just use them in your Day/Night System.

oh...hot avatar though. r u a girl?

what game r u making that's so good? Mine's not bad.

i have no idea where to start on my maps, though, because i'm using a realistic style in which the world map is not downsized and where it is still a continent. Your supposed to get a good feeliong of traveling, and the benefits of transportation. It gives root to tons of side-missions and bonus features. I know how i will do it, but where to start?

With my ave, what else?! Lol!
Try the Enhanced Demo of Chaos Project - Nemesis Wrath™ (http://www.chaosproject.co.nr/index.php?showtopic=53). Or if you´re willing to wait for a couple of days you can play the much better Final Demo that I´m gonna release soon.

One of the Game_Battler scripts has two methods called attack_effect and skill_effect. There are the battle damage, hit rate etc. calculations. You can try mess around with it. I changed some of those in my own game already.
About a counter effect:
I have one in my game, but I merged it into the HP/MP Absorb. I suggest you just try to find a counter attack script on www.hbgames.org/forums. I think they have one.

woops, sory. not counter. (thats wat Games Factory calls variables like STR or HP)
I mean dat i need to ad values called Elemental Exp, which is invisible; Power Lv., which is in accordance to El Exp and is visible somewhere, and Luck.

Ele Exp. and POW lv. work much the same as ability points in FFTA, and are the only way to increase POW (INT) and RES. (resistance)

If i can locate the formulas for ailment chance to effect, this will modify an ailments chance to effect (or infect) a target.

Also, is it possible for me split POW (INT) into my six elements?

You need to mess around with and/or edit the stats in the Gme_Battler class. You will also need to modify your leveling system. Altough you could try to use game variables for this and implement them into these methods.

i really need to read the tutorial in this place...

Have u tried adding stats by inserting them in the definitions? like Luck for instance?

how could u edit them though?
