Title: [Music] Of Dreamscapes And Memories

New album by... well, me. The first all-original project I've done in a while, actually. This was pretty much an experiment; with different styles I don't normally use, and with odd time signatures (lots of 7/8 and 5/4) and overall, just different than the way I normally write music. I strayed away from building up to huge climaxes in every song, which sounds like it would be a bad thing, but for the way I wanted it, it's actually good.

Most of the music here is very dissinent, mostly due to the fact I've been listening to the Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy Tactics soundtracks a lot lately. In other words, it's less "melodic" than my other work.

TRACKLIST:
1. Overture
2. Suite Dreams
3. Desert Wind
4. Dance Of Ascension
5. Blue Cathedral
6. Turbulence
7. Out Of The Mist
8. The Storm
9. Repression
10. Finale

Since this has an Overture and Finale, you can tell that all of the songs are obviously tied together in some way, some obvious and some not-so-obvious.

Anyway, click the link, check them out, please leave feedback. I've been working on this for almost 3 months. Also, Silverline will be adding the option to stream the music and to download as a single file soon. :)

I've listened to it twice through now, the last time it finished playing was around an hour ago. Thinking back, I don't really remember it as seperate tracks, I sorta think of it as a big single peice; wether that's good or bad for you I'm not sure ._.

I think it's dance of Ascension where I started to notice how Impressed I was feeling, you made a really nice peice that felt sort of cheesy but it wasn't, if that makes any sense (I'm sure it doesn't =p)

I should listen to it some more, and I will; I have it queued in my playlist of things to send me off to slumberland tonight =D

My own opinion is that both you and arlen are better musicians than me, and this justifies my opinion moreso =D.

The only fault I can find is that I still noticed a few clips here and there ;_; though much less than before, in FFAOS2. >_<

I was kind of going for the feel of just one large piece, in several movements, so I'm glad you viewed it like that. =}

I kind of think that maybe I know what you mean about that song, it did seem kind of cheesy to me as I was writing it, but the more I listened to it, the more I realised it really isn't that cheesy.

About the clipping, I've tried doing it the way you said you did, and this is how it turned out, so I'm not sure why there's still some clipping. If . your speakers have a lot of bass, then it will definately clip in Blue Cathedral, and Finale, so maybe that's it. ?_?

Anyway, it's definately more "relaxing" than my usual. Mostly because I didn't use a lot of bass end to give it that dreamy, hollow feeling. Fore me personally this tells a story... so I'm going to view this differently than everyone else I suppose.  I think I'm starting to lean towards Repression being my favorite, and am thinking now maybe I should of written more to it, but it still stands well the way it is.

I still think you're a great musician. There are some songs of yours I hear that make me wish I could do things like that, so don't feel too bad, or something LOL. I really like the overall sound of your music, too. You have a nice amount of reverb and a pretty decent soundfont.

Um... I think that's all I was going to say right now...

I'll check it out once I get FiOS. Hell, I'm checking out all of Slyph once I get FiOS. Is it pronounced "Slif" or Slife"?
