Title: GRRR ANNOYING
Post by: Angantyr on September 24, 2006, 08:26:23 PM
alright, i have an event where i want an enemy to run up to hit my hero. i want it to auto start so my hero cant move but then the game just freezes. i have it set to where the enemy runs left with the Move Event function.
also another problem, how do i set it to where they move a specific amount of squares?

1:
Remember to turn a switch on, make a new page and set the switch as a precondition on the new page.
Don't understand switches? *points to sig*

2:
Press the specific amount of times on the way you want.

alright, heres exactly whats going on.
when i set him to move, using any combination of switches and AutoStart, we both just freeze and cant move.
when i set it to parallel, he shoots forward but i have plenty of time to move out of the way, and i want it to autostart without freezing.

Try erasing the event after teleportation..
It may work!?

Here's what can stop players from being able to move.

1) Impassable Tiles

Go into your database, into the Tilesets/Chipsets Tab. Make sure the tile you teleport onto has a O on it here.

2) Auto-Start Events

Make sure you don't have any events on auto-start precondition somewhere on the map. If you really need to, use a switch to stop it so you can move.

So which do you think you got?

nvm i fixed it. it was my own idiocy that caused it to happen. i accidentally tried to make him run towards himself and that caused him to freeze.

-.x, i do that all the time with the dog in my game, 0.o, makes him chase his tail. Anyway an easier way to fix that, is to just do something like this.

Autostart: Message: Gotta get away... gotta get away!!!! Character Movement Custom: *movements*. Monster (hawkeye): Chase after. Collision at: *set area* Enemy encounter (Hawkeye). Erase Event.
