hey i was wondering if anyone knew the best editer for spites is and if you could give me the name of it that would be great thanks

Pick one color.  Pick another.  Pick a bunch of colors in between them.  Manually draw them in order on the screen.

Try Paint Shop Pro, nice interface, alpha blending, bla bla ... and of course, very simple methods of gradation.

Not as complex as Photoshop and much smaller (20-50 Mb), i'm using VEr.7 which is about few years old, but it is still the best...

there is a great program for making battle screen enemies... I used a long ago so i didn't remember at first, and now it became commercial, there is still a free version for test...
