Old-school gaming urges ;) anyone else have em
I have a snes and a SEGA geniuses, and I'm into the whole rom thing. I can easily satasify my urges
i have a SNEs and a NES genisi and a 64 so im good but i want more games and i don't know what to play
F-Zero X. F-Zero GX. F-Zero. Yoshi's Island. Donkey Kong Country. Earthbound. The Illusion of Gaia. Got enough ideas yet???
I generally play 2D games exclusivly.
I'm sorta the same as Gilgamesh. I'm definitely an old-school gamer. I miss the days when games were dependent upon their entertainment factor, instead of the dependence on shiny graphics and big explosions that you see nowadays.
All the time, I find myself craving:
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Dragon Warrior 3
Shining Force 2
Mega Man 2, 4, 5, 6
Mega Man X, X2, X3, X5
Phantasy Star 2
Mischief Makers
Ogre Battle 64
Final Fantasy 4, 6, Mystic Quest
Magi-Nation
Chrono Trigger
Street Fighter 2 (the first one! XD)
Kid Icarus
Earth Bound
Sailor Moon: Another Story (no laughing!)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4: Turtles in Time (stop laughing!)
Pok
Well if we're listing things I might as well list some that I love as well. I'll try not to include things that have already been said.

Recent games:
Kirby all stars (SNES)
Sonic 2 (sega)
Sonic 3 (sega)
Sonic Spinball (sega)
Bomberman (N64)
Diddy kong racing (N64)

Meh, I never got aroused by games back then. It was all too flat and pixely. Now, Dead or Alive. THAT gives me some serious urges.
ROFL :D
I fap to pixels.
No way! We have applaud / smite now! Kick ass!

Bahamut Lagoon
Heck yeah! I knew I was forgetting something.
Know what else I forgot?
The original Star Fox!
Wait nevermind I guess we don't.
I own the Original Star Fox, and play it often. I can't beat the third path...But I did find that endless Lotto Machine Stage!
...which reminds me that I need to download a Star Fox rom one of these days...
You know what an incredible platformer on the Sega Genesis was? Vectorman!!
Yeah, me too. Basically all I play is Gameboy, SNES, Genesis, and NES games.

Hey, I remember that game! It's been so long since I've played it or even thought about it... Ah, memories....
I loved that game. It was awesome. I couldn't beat the first level. I was seven, and had never seena Genesis in my life at the time. But I like it anyhow. I speak broken English. Fluently.
Vectorman kicked ass! the drill power-up was awesome. I love the level where you are on the train and there is the steel golem grabbing on and climbing the floating rails, so cool. Beat it, and two.
I remember renting Vectorman 2, but I don't remember anything about it.
I remember the first Vectorman having all these insane cheats. Like, you could freeze the screen and move through walls and stuff. But, if you cleared the game using any of the cheats, the ending of the game only shows a screen that says "Nice job! Next time, try not to cheat!" It made me feel so guilty. To this day, I have no idea what the real ending is.
anyone who can beat Vector man is hardcore :lol
Dude I have that game for sega... it owns
ya i have it too but have u beat it without dying *done it in sonic 2*
Without using any cheats, I've only made it to about level 3 or 4. It sucks cause there's no way to save your progress. Some of the "boss battles" against the main badguy dude are brutal.
Can everyone please stfu, I am trying to play MK3!

Emulators. Save states. You're welcome.
I love emu-laters...They're a disgusting bird and a cheap farewell, all in one tiny package...
that was exetremely lame.

Haha, well the Vectorman I'm talking about is the one I'm familiar with from when I was a wee little lass. No save states for that~
But, yes, after talking about it for all this time, I am increasingly becoming fond of the idea of downloding Vectorman. Even though I still have it on console.
Thank you, I guess. ::)
I grew up on 2D games so I just got used to them. I like 3D but I miss the games like:
-Secret of mana
-Final Fantasy 3
-Super Mario RPG
-Chrono trigger
Thats the main reason I like RPG maker so much is because it's 2d :D
*Goes to play only NES games*

Don't roll your eyes at me, missy!
But the good news is, it'll be legal for you to have the ROM since you own the actual game. Like that really matters though.
Im all set I can satisfy my old school gaming urges by playing NES games on Animal Crossing.
i have FF3 *just beat it last week* and of course i have supermario RpG and T.T on animal crossing whild world u can't play NES games
Not enough room. Think about all of the massive additions in Wild World that weren't in the GCN version. The lack of NES games was a small price to pay for the larger house size, more characters, larger museum, and 3x more furniture.
Well damn! Maybe I should rent that...
anyone here have ZNES you can make chop sets by taking screen shots ;D i would try but i don't have it
Go here:
www.dohgames.com
lotsa roms and emulators
I got the EMUlators but how do i get games to play :-\
You, uh, download them.

The great thing about ZSNES is that you can switch the different layers on/off. Hit a few keys and BAM the sprite layer is turned off, making chipset ripping like a dream. Also works vice-versa... switch off the background layers and you're left with sprites, unobstructed. ZSNES also gives you the option of slowing the game way down, making it easy to rip battle animations and the like.
Geno, the game files are called roms.
ok i ubderstand everything very useful ;) especially erasing backgrounds and sprites
Anyone elver heard of TurboGrafix
I had one back in the day. Bonk's Adventure ftw.
Ya is there an Emulator for that too and Yes Bonker ruled The Turbo grafix
PHANTASY STAR... the originals from Sega, not this online shooter stuff..
Anyone ever play these? I'm playing Phantasy Star I on my GBA at the moment... digging that old school nostalgia.
