For my game im having it were when you get to a certain level with 1 class, you will turn into a different class. Any script for this? i can do a chain of events, but its gonna take forver for that :'(
I THINK sephy swarm wrote one, I asked him for permission to post his test bed when it comes out so yea, wait till then or find it yourself...

This is actually pretty easy to do with events. Just take some time to learn the event commands before you go asking for help.
How quickly do you need a system for this. When I'm done with DW I can make one.
I'll probably get done with DW in about a month.
I was thinking of making common events for each character, a couple conditional branches, variables, etc....
i might need it soon. im working on characters/classes, items, equips, spells, etc. So i would really like the script asap. If i cant do it, ill just have it were you go to a NPC that will change it for you, but how do you make them check to see if your level 10? i have a hard time with this, i ask if they are level 10 or not, but you can just say yes and change anyway.
I guess i really dont need a SCRIPT! just a way for npc's to check your level in an event so they can change you at level 10.
It's not a script. The way I'd do it will be 100% events. It's actually rather easy.
If you can seriously wait about a month I can make a tut for it.
a month??? how come a month? cant u just tell me how the npcs can like do this:
"Would you like to become a knight?"
then you select yes when you are level 8
"Sorry your not level 10 yet"
thats just an example. I just need to know how to get npcs to check a level of a character so that a person has to change classes when they reach level 10. (level 10 is the class changing level on my game)
Easy.
I thought you wanted it to be automatic when a person leveled.
You know my system for level reqs for weapons? Base it off that. Instead of exchanging an item when the requirments are met use the change hero class command.
I'll put up link for that tut later, since I have to find it.
ya i would like it instantly, but finding the special npc will be half the challenge! i really just the npc to make sure that the person is level 10. cause then a level 1 could change classes...
ok, I'll TRY make you a tut, the script makes you change instantly when u hit the required level but if you want to find the NPC to do it, its all in commen events and conditional branches, Fu can you check it incase i do anything wrong? ok here it goes....
Ok, make a common event in the database like so....
(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg142.imageshack.us%2Fimg142%2F4271%2Ftut1lv4.png&hash=3f9f9d6ef67e734ab68953ed8e55ae5354d830ef) (http://imageshack.us)
1.This is the message when you talk to the guy
2. This is the conditonal branch and what happens when your press "Yes"
3. This is what happens if your not at that level
4. This is if you select "no"
Ok, how this works is if you want a job advancment at level 9, make a skill at level 9 and then with the conditional branch make it that your character has to have that skill in order to advance. Anyway, it exaplins it all basicly, if you don't understand then I'll be happy to make a demo which isn't really needed but all well....
Anyway part 2, make the npc somewhere and set its event up like so....
(https://rmrk.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg142.imageshack.us%2Fimg142%2F8241%2Ftut2vc3.png&hash=927969e662b5c00a94d19e6f346f2ccb47fefa35) (http://imageshack.us)
And it should work. If you don't understand anything, ask me or someone else like Fu... did I get it right? ;D
If you want t automaticly switch then go here:

Class Changer By: Winged
Winged that's exactly how I would of done it. If I could I would applaud you. Because you should gain rep points for that.
i woulda done like that also since im doing a class changing system also,so well done winged, you are showing quite some skill :)
ty it works! ;D
why not just do it by making a second version of the original character in the database
