Dissolution: An overview
Dark Eternal: Dissolution, part I of a II part saga, is a cintematic 2D rpg designed in the RMXP engine. It chronicles the journey of 'Danis', a mysterious duelist who was found washed ashore in north western Nikotha by Brian, a local vagrant and troublemaker to the people of 'Domna', a forest community rooted deep in Nikothian territory. Brian learns that Danis has lost his memory, and decides to join him as a guide in Danis' new quest to discover his past identity.
Dark Eternal: Dissolution has been in development since December '04, and now over a year later, the final version is to be released in the coming week. Along with a
slew of changes, some of the major additions to the game include a brand new message system, featuring a higher resolution skin and face graphics, 6 additional sidequests and minigames, many additional cutscenes and story sequences throughout the game, over 150 redesigned maps, an extended ending and much more.
Game is Rated: Mature (Alcohol refrences, marijuana refrences, adult themes, mild profanity)For more information, please visit Dissolution's official website at http://www.zenosoft.net (http://www.zenosoft.net).Dissolution: Prolouge
Nearly 3000 years have passed since the seperation of the realms. The Void, The Living and the Dormant. Our story takes place on the planet Norturne, a place where The Living realm flourished in a post-dark ages renissance of sorts, hosting a plethora of different forms of life and resources. Although the three known nations of Norturne, 'Arnia', 'Nikotha' and 'Daerok' are constantly bickering with one another, a war has not been seen by the citizens of Norturne in recent history. All is not as grand elseware, however, in the Dormant realm. Although the Dormant realm is much more advanced in terms of technology and and scientific discovery, it suffers from corrupt dictatorships and constant war. Due to all of the advances made on Norturne in the 'Dormant realm', they also suffer from lack of resources and polluted air supply.
Dissoultion begins with a seemingly normal young man called, 'Danis', floating ashore in northern Nikotha unconcious. He is later discovered by a local Vagrant named, 'Brian', and after a short discussion, Brian decides to help Danis find his lost past. Danis and Brian will travel through a slew of different regions and citys, all the while meeting many friends and foes along way, on their path to discover the secrets of Danis' dark past. Dissolution is Part I of II, meaning it is more accuratly half of a full length game. Dissolution takes place mostly in the Living Realm of Norturne, with an ending that will leave most people who finish the game with more questions than answers.

Frequently Asked Questions
1.) Why is the game so big?
The game is 20 hours long, and yes, it has a completely mp3 soundtrack. The MP3s make up 180 megabytes of the filesize, where as the rest of the game is hovering at a little above 50.2.) Is there a midi version?
No.3.) Will there ever be a midi version?
No.4.) I don't see any fonts, whats going on?!
The install package *should* automaticlly install the two fonts neccisary to play Dark Eternal: Dissolution. In some rare cases, however, the fonts don't seem to get installed. If this happens to you, head to http://www.zenosoft.net (http://www.zenosoft.net), and navigate to the Dissolution downloads area. There you can find a link to the fonts and documentation seperate from the main download.5.) 0MG, Where did you get your battle system?!?
It's the KGC Active count battle system. you can find it Here. (http://f44.aaa.livedoor.jp/~ytomy/tkool/rpgtech/frame.html)6.) I found a bug, how do I report it?
You can, of course, post your bug here. However, I'd prefer bug reports be posted Here. (http://forums.zenosoft.net/viewtopic.php?t=22)7.) When is Dark Eternal II coming out?
There is no release date, as it is still highly in pre-development. You can expect more information in a couple months.8.) Can I be a part of Dark Eternal II?
Yes! Although I did DE1, and I will do DE2 mostly by myself(Using third party resources), I do always need more beta testers, spriters and maybe an extra scripter aswell. If your interested, feel free to contact me via e-mail. hakuzen@gmail.com (hakuzen@gmail.com)Credits

Enjoy!
It certainly sounds good, I'll post what I think after playing it.
Funky. When I can, I'll download it. But one question: the first character's weapons are "talins". What's a talin?
See Talim's weapons from Soul Calibur series.
i've played this game...and it is very good....but the one thing that i don't like is just like every map has a fog....and sometimes i can't see my character when im at the bottom of the screen...i understand that the fogs being used for a more dramatic feel....lol...there's my opinion...overall...the best rpg maker xp i've played...:) 8-)
Quotesometimes i can't see my character when im at the bottom of the screen...
hmm? Can you give me an example of this? I don't quite get what you mean.
I think he means the fog is so thick at the bottom that it completely obscures the sprite.
The highest fog opacity I used period is 128, but generally from 32 to 96.. Theres no way any fogs should obscure vision of the characters in a normal gameplay situation.
There was, however, a bug in an older version that made the cutscene bars stick around after you left the first town, but that bug fixes itself after the chronic wood. (Fixed in the current version.)
First off I apologize for posting here first. It's customary to introduce ones self but this game really caught my eye.
I was browsing the forum and I must say a lot of the games look great and there are some promising projects in the works. I could learn a lot here. Anyway I really want to check this game out but it doesn't appear to be available anymore. Is there still a way I can get it?
It´s a game worth playing. Check out the first post. Zenogias has put a link there to his forums. You can ask there.
I probably still have it. It looked promising, but I was actually a bit dissapointed with it myself.
I personally think it was quite ok. Better than many other RM games to be honest.
download doesn't work for me...
Hmm good name, seems to be good from what i sees

QuoteDark Eternal: Dissolution v2.1SE (Complete)
I was the other day on hbgames.org, I needed to look up something and I noticed the version there:
QuoteDark Eternal: Dissolution v2.0SE (Complete)
We have the newest version! xD
Lol. Small things count.
If I remember correctly I got stuck at one part lol.
I was way too weak.
It reminds me of FFXII actually lol, my characters are way behind the characters of other people at the same part I'm at. They had trouble lol, I didn't.
It's kind of strange lol.
Anyways, yes, this is a great game.
He likes us more than hbgames.org! :O
We <3 you, too, Zenogias, in a non-gay way. :=:
I remember playing the first version, some time ago... great, GREAT musical development here. I have to ask: you have rights to all the soudtrack? You did the music yourself with a band or something? The farther i did was converting the rmxp mids and some mids of mine with finale, and sometimes the mp3 didn't go so well... you used recorded analog instruments?
Congratulations on a well finished title :D
user is no longer active I believe.
also needs a bump. people need to see these games. :'(
This is the very first game that I've played that truly taught me a lot. Strongly recommended for everyone to try it.
Yeah, this game is really good. Recommended to anybody who thinks an Rpg Maker game can't be great
Gah! The download dosn't work. Anyone have a working link? I want to try this :'(
find it on his site:

EDIT: http://forums.zenosoft.net/viewtopic.php?t=171
Just bumping this and posting to say that DE2: Kiketsu Houmuru is in full production.
Myself (JustinAC) and Zeno are currently at work on database, maps, and a number of new incredible home-made scripted systems that will knock your socks off. Combined with the extremely amazing custom soundtrack, this is truly going to be an epic conclusion to the series. Some things in store:
- An incredibly revolultionary way to learn magic
- A sweet in-battle transformation system
- World map with functional teleportation
- A whole new way to "limit break"
Stay tuned for these updates and more. We'll probably be making a project thread for this somewhere down the road, until then, ask me any questions you may have or forward questions to our forums at www.zenosoft.net.

The Sole Dedidicated Scripter for Dark Eternal
Aka. The Machine
AHHHHHHH!!! This game is awesome and I'm expecting Kiketsu to be awesome, too XD About how far are you done? The Zenosoft forums are pretty dead, so I'd rather ask here :P
Wow looks great !
Looking foreword playing it
Can't wait!
wow wonder how good they will be second time around!
I forgot to play/finish the game in hard mode... Different ending if you do :P
I can assure you that the game is going to be a lot better the second time around. We've both learned a lot (not that I scripted for the original, but you get the idea).
If everything goes as planned, we should be able to combine Dissolution and Kiketsu into one game, as they were originally intended to be.
Look forward to this project. I originally bumped this project for people here to see a game that was actaully finished and done well. (well of course a game other then chaos project xD ) so again, great luck with this game!
Will the team be the same as the first one? Mappers, eventers, story..ect?
Here's a little story about the team..
Zeno was the sole creator of DE1 to my knowledge, apart from any third party scripts he may have used (KGC Active count battle, among others). He's 100% responsible for the story, events, and maps. Amazing, really, I still have trouble believing it. Oh yeah, he did any and all sprite edits and custom graphics you saw, to my knowledge. A bit after he released version 2.0, which was a big overhaul, I messaged him almost daily with more bug fixes. Eventually, we got around to talking on AIM about DE2 and all of the cool systems that he wanted to script but just couldn't envision working out. By far the coolest thing he mentioned was the idea for a new way for characters to learn magic.
I had coded a similar, but less in depth version of what he wanted for one of my own discontinued projects, so I offered to take a whack at it. He sort of chuckled and let me have a go, and the system was more or less working flawlessly within two weeks. That's pretty much when I became the scripter for the project, and I've done a number of other custom systems already, though I'm not yet finished. We keep cooking up great ideas. On another note, we have a fantastic musician who's helping us with a custom soundtrack. It may or may not be 100% custom, I'm not sure, but you'll definitely hear some original sounds in DE2.
Hope that answers anyones questions! The team for DE2 is only about three people, and Zeno had no formal help with DE1.

Omfg... Zeno is a beast, then. XD How long did it take him to make DE1? And how far is the progress on DE2?
Yeah you could put it that way. Uh, I'd say custom script systems that we plan to add to the DE1 system for DE2 are about 70% complete... I'm heading those up. The database is more or less done... and once the combat system overhaul is finished, linear game production can begin.. The story was written and completed over two years ago as far as I know. The "demo" is probably going to be prologue + ch1, maybe ch2. I don't have an ETA on this, mainly because it's dependant on how fast he and I can work. We want to give you the best experience possible, and good things come to those who wait ;D
Can anybody help me? The game hangs after the scene with the Dark Angel-thingy and some scene with a party member. ???
try an re-install it.
Some trouble shooting tips:
1. If you have insalled the game and the fonts are not appearing, first repair the installation and re-boot your computer.
2. Re-download the game again
3. Download the fonts seperately, extract them into the game, reinstall the game and re-boot you computer (that's what I had to do).
It's a very fun game, if you haven't played it you definiately need to give it a go. Once you get into it it becomes very addicting. The plot is a well thought up one and the characters are quite well developed. I'm looking forward to the next installment ;D
Or... for fixing the fonts, you can just go to www.zenosoft.net and get the font installer. >_> Sorry for the half-necro.
Downloading as we speak :P
I look forward to this =D
I went to the megaupload site to get this game and I got this: "Unfortunately, all available bandwidth is currently reserved for our premium customers. Therefore, free downloads will be unavailable for the next 7 hours.
We're working on adding more capacity for free users and would like to apologize for the inconvenience.
Your Megaupload Team" That's bullshit... And I even got the Mega Manager and shiat so yep. That's the major reason why I hate Mega Upload :( That site should get h4xed by the devil and then analed by him D: :tpg: :=:
I've played it, and I have to say, games like this keep me occupied all day ;8
I love it, the maping, the gameplay, everything, games like this are hard to come by :D
One or two problems I did notice, when you walk diagonally, he seems to go slower than the usual up, down, left, right movement. Plus, i'm using the moderate difficulty battle system and, I kinda think you made the bosses a bit too fast, and strong. I'm on boss 3 and i'm out of dank :-\
Other than that, kudos to you my good friend ;)
The dialogue is pretty awful"blah blah herb","got some gil so i can buy herb"?
Seriously man, use dialogue that would make the game a bit interesting to actually go to each person in a town and talk to them.
Besides the game being pretty boring in the story/dialogue area, everything else seemed pretty cool to me.
But yeah, the game seemed to be slow paced with no interesting plot.I lost interest when I beat Vampire guy at the mansion.
I noticed that there was a 2 second(ish) wait in between dialogue boxes... is that just lag or did you put it in there yourself?
looks like something sony would make but in 3-d

No, Sony would probably make some crazy HD game with 4D Graphics that could blow your mind open and get 10/10 by everyone who reviews it.

Does anyone know what AMS script that is?
Hello, yes Dark Eternal II Chapter I is indeed out and ready for download, it picks up right where Dissolution left off.
I will be posting a thread for it over here in a few, so be sure to check that out^^

Hello, This is just to notify everybody that zenosoft.net is back up aswell as the official forums for both DE1 and DE2. Expect releases for both games in the coming month.
YES YES YES YES. :D I've beeen waitinggggggggggggg. Wait, both games? o_O I thought the first one was already done, lol.
Yeah, the new edition of DE1 will have some new features/content/bonuses/etc... maybe some other improvments.
oh wow, upgrades to DE1?
I loved it the first time I played it, maybe I'll play it over :)
DE1 was the first finished RMXP game I ever played through. It was also the one that convinced me that a project made in RM didn't have to be shitty. It will be nice to play through it again.
