Title: SCARY GAMES
Post by: loonygamer on March 29, 2006, 10:16:32 PM
post here if you have played a scary game before.

I'll tell you, when i was playing Doom 3 for the first time on the XBOX, i can't concentrate coz my cousins know it was scary and they're trying to freak me out. anyway, i was playing, confused, sweating like a pig, then POP! outta no where the big ass huge monster fat guy came popped out then i my cousins were screaming like hell. i was panicking and all, then i paused the game and I said "i gotta go to the bathroom." but that was just an excuse, i actually went downstairs and watched my skate video instead.

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Shivers and Shiver 2 (on PC)
Amber: Journeys Beyond (also on PC)
Trace Memory had me sort of scared, even though nothing scary actually happened.  I guess it was just really eerie.

You won't know scary games till you play:

Land of The Dead: Road to Fiddlers Green

limited ammo, cramped spaces and silent zombies.

THAT GAME STILL SCARES THE CR*P OUT OF ME!!!

Some of the scariest/creepiest games for me:

American McGee's Alice (PC)
Resident Evil (GC)
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (GC)
Doom 3 (XBOX)

i would say, RE4 is just nerve racking, not scary. there's a difference. nerve racking, is just being nervoud. scary may mean, you are gonna PISS your pants!

Fatal Frame, for the love of God!

I love those games. Especially with surround sound.

A lot of people don't find Fatal Frame that scary, either, but I thought it was terrifying. I really think it depends on what you're willing to accept as super-naturally possible. Like, some people think resident evil is scary, because of the zombies and mutants and shit. I think it's intense, but not that scary. I think Fatal Frame's scary because while I don't exactly believe in ghosts, I think the concept of a ghost, an entity that can touch you when you can't touch it, or in other words decide what it wants to interact with, is pretty damn terrifying. If a ghost could reach through a wall and knock over a candlestick sitting on the table, it could just as easily reach through your rib cage and grab your heart.
:shiver:
How do you stop something like that?

I remeber playing Alone in the Dark. Even with its terrible graphics it was still pretty scary. Heh..

Hm... Silent Hill never scared me in the least bit. Just gets the adrenaline pumping a little.

The first "scary" game I remember playing would be Doom on Sega, when I was about eight or nine. Even that was pretty scary back then. Espescially when you're home alone.

Power Rangers was pretty scary too.  :O_o:

Ronald Mc donalds burger land xD
Yeah doom was scary when it first came out but the graphics weren't that scary inless you unlocked the hidden level (OH SHIT THAT LEVEL WAS FUCKING CRAZY!! You walk around and people have there own heads in their hands and stuff and it shows people walking around with blood all over their entire body)
