Title: Door problem
Post by: xanaxx on March 23, 2006, 10:50:25 PM
In RPG Maker2k3, I have scene where the hero opens a door to a prison cell.  I used the ERASE EVENT command(after the door opens) and the hero walks through and fights the person in the cell.

Now, if the hero wins he walks out of the cell and I want the door to reappear(or just close if there is a way to do that) but the door never comes back.  I've been trying all sorts of EVENT COMMANDS but none of them seem to work.  What should I do??

I've been working on this same event for like 35 minutes its really pissing me off.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ok,erase event only makes the event return when the player leaves the map.
i have xp,so this might not work, but copy the map(make a duplicate)and make it to where if you win the fight with the person,it teleports you to duplicate.the door will be closed.

try it.

Thats the noob way of doing it. A simple switch will sort out that problem!
Making duplicates is not a very good way of doing things!

First make a event switch that activates let's say *gate1 now make a new event that looks like a gate enter a new page look at 2nd page to the left and you see switch, put switch on and enter gate1-  hope i helped you with this crapy tut :P

it has to work though

Instead of erasing the event you should turn on a switch.
Make a new page and put the switch you just turned on as a condition.
Then make the 2nd page contain the same code as the first page except that it now does it in the opposite way.
Finally turn off the switch.
