Does anybody have any tuts on events? I can't get mine to work the way i want them to. I want to know 2 things. Firstly how i can make it so that a person walks over to me says something and walks away and that's it. And it won't ever repeat again. What happens with me when i try this is either it continuely repeats over and over so i cant do anything or i cant move. Or they say what they have to say move away and disapear! I don't want them to disapear i want them to stay so i can interact with them later. The other thing i want to do is each time you come into a room they say something but the don't repeat it until you've gone out of the room and back in again. If anybody could help me i'd be grateful thanks.
Use the search button my friend! I am to LaZy to tell you how, and if I do you'll probably be like... "WTF?"
So search switch tutorials and your bound to find something.
Or just look for Zeriabs user profile or one of zeriabs posts, there is a link to a switches tut. in his sig!
Still didn't work :/. The person keeps disapearing
*sighs*
okay on the event which is the guy make a condtional branch for if a switch is on
in the condtion met handeler put the stuff you want the guy to do in the talking sequence
and a operation to turn the same switch off
eg. move towards hero say"turnip"
then in the else handeler put what you want him to do when you interact with him later
now in a different event turning the switch on
NOTE: THE ABOVE MIGHT NOT BE THE SIMPLEST WAY TO DO THIS. THE ABOVE MAY BE CONFUSING TO YOU SO GO READ A SWITCH TUTORIAL AND A CONDTIONAL BRANCH TUTORIAL
I've tried doing that now the person won't show up at all no matter what i do. I walk towards where they should be and i get blocked by an invisible something and you can't interact with it.
Did you set a graphic to the switch page?
remember to make the graphic of the man actually there
you shouldnt need anything to make him disapear he simply stays on the map
Yeah in fact i made tripple sure of that. Do you want me to post screenshots of my event screen?
Yes, that would help.
Ah it's ok i managed to get it to work in the end. Thanks for your help anyway.
