I wore a clown costume and chased little children around.

They belonged to me, but still.

I clothed myself in medieval-themed attire before proceeding to walk around a neighborhood at dark, guiding my small nephews to establishments filled with citizens that placed sugary products into their satchels.

Got like 5 groups of trick or treaters. When you consider that my neighborhood has 3,000+ homes, that's really bad. It seems like halloween becomes less popular every year.

I took my little cousin trick or treating and noticed that most people didn't have their porch lights on and only a couple houses on my street even bothered putting up decorations.

Back in the day I used to go out with a pillow case and hit up almost the entire neighborhood. The streets were flooded with other kids dressed in spooky ass costumes too. By the end of it, my legs were killing me and my pillow case weighed more than a small car.

We had zero last year. This year it looks like it's going to be the same.

I should have mentioned that the pillow case was for candy.

I haven't had trick or treaters in probably 10 years so I don't even get candy for them anymore.

We've never, ever had even one trick-or-treater from what I can remember in 22 years of living here. I also noticed that there was very few people around this time of year. At least drastically different from last year even.

What gives, 2014? Halloween was amazing when I was a kid. ;9

Meanwhile in my neighborhood, cops directing traffic, $120 dollars of candy passed out, and getting trolled by high school kids. :o

I know that here a big reason kids don't go trick-or-treating anymore is because places like churches, the mall, and grocery stores do stupid Halloween event things that aren't even on Halloween that parents would rather take their children to. Couple that with the fact that in years when Halloween doesn't fall on a weekend, many cities now "request" that people move their trick-or-treating to a different, non-Halloween, Friday or Saturday which leads to lots of confusion over when you're actually supposed to go, and you get a very non-active Halloween. Which is super stupid because I remember as a kid going trick-or-treating on weeknights and going to bed and going to school the next day and it wasn't a big deal.

I thought it was because you kept handing out your Brittany Spears covers CDs instead of candy.
I still think you sing those songs better than she ever could.

Well this happened I guess (http://fox2now.com/2014/10/30/deadly-train-accident-in-vandalia-while-halloween-parade-rolls-through/).

My sister couldn't even get her car out because they parked too close to the scene. They had to get a personal friend on the force to get it past the police tape.

I don't understand how someone gets hit by a train, the linear traveling vehicle that makes its presence known long before it reaches a crossing.

Same HERE!
This year I had just moved into a new house with a new girlfriend, and we were a bit unprepared, but we did throw a party, and my girlfriend served beef stew inside a hollowed out pumpkin. We also served Melted Witch Puddles, Deviled Eyes, Blood N Guts Dip with homemade corn tortilla chips, and a punch served with kool-aid ice cubes that had sour gummi worms frozen into them. The food was great.

Unfortunately, we didn't get any trick or treaters at all. I even had my mom get us some last minute extra candy for the house, and not a soul stopped to trick-or-treat at our house. I was so bummed out that I didnt get to see any kids in their costumes, let alone ANYBODY. I did put lights up though, although my girlfriend and I never carved jack-o-lanterns.

I dressed up as Jack Skellington this year, and even made a bat bowtie out of black card paper and by the end of the night my facepaint was soooo ready to come off.
