Our city banned fireworks because of how dry it's been. People still shot them off, just not as many as usual.

I didn't go see fireworks but I saw street fireworks.
I spent last night at a playground swinging and spinning on those askew spinny chairs. I wanted to play tennis but all the courts were full. :\
My girlfriend and I drove up to fireworks, put the top down in my car, and watched them from right there. It was awesome.
We were going to see them on John's sister's boat, but then she said she didn't want us to go because it was just her husband's family. ;9
We were sunburned and tired at the end of the day, so we didn't feel like it much anyway.
