More stuff for Strike
can't wait can't wait can't wait can't wait
I called the colonial thing a few months ago.
I always thought it was this or victorian london. Only problem(?) is the gameplay is going to be hugely different seeing as everyone used guns and there weren't any tall buildings at the time in New England.
Not a hardcore fan of this series, but I had to hear someone complain all day about how this game is going to suck so bad just because is set in the US and it was being set there just to sell more games to Americans and how being set in Europe was so much better because their history is better and she would have even accepted China as a place for the new game.
I still don't understand why people can't just wait to play a game or a console before passing judgement.
Your friend is an ignorant fuck. The best part about history is that it's awesome everywhere.
Also AC is made in North America anyways ;o
I'm glad they move to such different locales in history, being a history nerd i'm legitimately excited for this.
I still have to finish the first one (for story purposes and for the sake of completing it) and play through the second one, Brotherhood, and Revelations. :c
It wouldn't make sense if it was in China. The story is about Desmond's ancestors. Unless Ezio's descendant was somehow Chinese, it wouldn't work.
I will play this, since I enjoyed 1 and 2, but I have no idea how Revelations and Brotherhood are supposed to fit in to the chronology of this series.

That's really all I can think of when I think of this

Brotherhood and Revelations are direct sequels to 2

Ezio isn't even Altair's ancestor. They're on opposite sides of the family tree. People have more than one bloodline because parents.
Also, embers was totally setting up a chinese storyline.
Edit: proof for anyone who might be noping at the "Ezio and Altair aren't related" bit. http://www.gamespot.com/assassins-creed-revelations/videos/assassins-creed-revelations-desmonds-ancestry-explained-6339000/ (http://www.gamespot.com/assassins-creed-revelations/videos/assassins-creed-revelations-desmonds-ancestry-explained-6339000/)

I didn't say that he was. I said he was Desmond's ancestor. So unless Desmond has a Chinese great uncle...
Desmond and Altair fucked and had a chinese child
Problem solved.

I called the colonial thing a few months ago.
A ton of people did.
Anyway, I don't care about Assassin's Creed. I don't know why this dude is wearing this outfit, though. It seems totally out of place.
He banged him into an Asian.
I have french ancestors, but I don't look french or speak any sort of french except omelette du fromage. I'm also part Irish, German, British, Dutch, and probably a bunch of other stuff.
We're all just a grab-bag of ethnicities. Is it really that far-fetched to think that Desmond might have had a Chinese ancestor?
Yes.
Although in your defense my great grandmother was Cherokee and I have other Native American ancestors from other sides of the family, and apart from my facial structure (barely) and the fact that my skin turns light brown/red with sun you can't tell at all, even though I'm more than enough to legally be a citizen of the Cherokee Nation.
Also Chewey, Sofia jokes about the assassins still wearing hoods in the 16th century at the end of Revelations, Ezio explains it as a homage to Altair. Why a half-redskin colonial American is wearing an 18th century military jacket tailored with a hood, chaps, and moccasins however, is beyond me.
I do hope that isn't the final character design...
EDIT: Actually, it's growing on me. Still dunno about the whole Native American thing...
New bundle of shit, main character is named Connor.

They're assassin's but they're so outrageously conspicuous. Is that ever explained?
This one's setting is intriguing, but AC2 didn't hook me. I re-installed in to give it another go, but I haven't yet played it again.
AC2 is the best game in the series though ._.
That outfit is comically out of place.
it's implied via the books and some bits in revelations that they frequently use disguises and that it's more of a gameplay abstraction that you're constantly wearing the same thing.
the assassins in ac1 wore their white stuff all the time, it's implied in the games and said in the books that ezio used disguises often.
I haven't played through Revelations yet, but talking about the new one has made me put it next on my queue.
Revelations is pretty neat, the story is pointless as far as Desmond goes but it does wrap up Altair and Ezio's lives. The new setting of Constantinople is pretty sweet and the hook blade is as huge as an advancement as the double blade was, maybe even more.
I'm having my back molar pulled on Monday, so I have the next 4 days off. Gaems playing incoming~
desmond was expanded a lot, did you even play the desmond bits on animus island.
I did, you don't really learn anything that you didn't already know. (I haven't done the very last one yet though)

They should show him wearing disguises then. Who would read
video game books????????????????
~Chapter Three~
~In Which Ezio's Health Bar Gets Low~
not you, Cmdr. Opinion.
Of course not.

trailer is out. hmmmm
I give no fucks about what anyone else thinks, i'm excited for it.
Gotta catch up on Revelations/Brotherhood, and maybe play I again before this comes out (since I never beat it).

dunno looks like the city (hopefully cities) will be just fine
maybe it'll be more like ac1 with several cities and like linking areas with (in the case of ac3) wooded areas and stuff.
I want to be able to be let loose in like boston, new york and philidelphia. more would be awesome.
There were about 4 million American citizens in 1777, around 700,000 lived in Philadelphia. Constantinople in 1500 had around 70,000 in comparison.
The population of Rome dropped from 2 million at it's peak to around 35,000 in the 13th century, Rome didn't reach a population of a million again until the 1930s.
I don't think you have to worry about a lack of buildings.
I haven't read a lot about this one, but I'm assuming that they had a team working on it even while another team worked on Revelations. Does anyone know if this is true? Because if its just another game in the AC2 engine, with a bit better graphics and in a different time period, that's pretty lame. I would imagine that it isn't, though.
Yeah I believe there are two very large teams working on an installment each, which gives each team about a two year dev cycle.
As for the engine I imagine it's another iteration of the AC2 engine.
I imagine it would be very similar to AC2, but probably a completely new feature and several new weapons; like how AC2 introduced eagle vision while walking, poison blades, double blades, smoke bombs, throwing coins, the pistol, the codex, a wider variety of enemies, then the large women again. The way I think of it, AC2 built substantially on AC1, AC:B and AC:R introduced a couple new things, but nowhere near as much as AC2 did, and hopefully AC3 will do what 2 did with 1.
._.

Yes, they've been working on this installment since 2008
