Title: Exporting my Resources
Post by: SirCumferance on July 15, 2011, 07:54:04 PM
I made a quick little demo using VX and sent it some friends. They do not use the program at all so didnt have the RTP. So, I went to compress it and include the RTP with it....

Thats when I realized that all the Animation, Sound Effects, Titles...everything I have collected over the years is in my RTP. I am only using a small portion of it but in order for them to play the demo, they need certain files. So I went through my demo and made a list of all the resources used and transplanted them to the Demo's folder.

Question:
Is there a program or some script to take only the resources you are using for the game and move them to the Folder?

Anyone know what I am saying? Is there a script or something that can do this?

I don't believe that there is one that does it automatically, but you can try Yeyinde's RM Data Checker (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,38957.0.html) to see what files that you are currently missing within your project.

Dude(ette?), thanks for the quick reply, this is a good step in the right direction.

Edit: Ack, I am getting a Runtime Error, so it isnt working. It seems to be looking for Rubyw.exe...Do I need something else for this to run?
