Title: Windows 8

Windows 8 is getting an interface designed for touch screens. I always thought of Windows as a joke on any touch screen device, because the interface is simply designed for a mouse and keyboard, but it looks like you may never even have to touch the traditional interface while on a tablet, but will still be able to if you need to access standard Windows programs. This could turn out to be pretty cool, and I can't wait to see more.

You'd think a multi billion dollar company would use a clip on microphone.

Those are the kind of things that make Microsoft who they are.

Really smart idiots.

Looks really cool, though.

Windows 8, a glorified phone interface. Yay, I've always wanted my desktop to work just like my phone....

Boooooo! Why on earth would I want a million separate apps staring me in the face!? This is a phone design, and it shouldn't be put on a computer...

This is a touch-screen interface that you'd probably only want to use on a touch-screen device. The traditional Windows interface isn't going anywhere. Did you even watch the video?

Windows is an OS though. I look forward to seeing the non-touch screen version of Windows 8 to see if Microsoft can actually make something worth having.

No, I can see it for something like the iPad or something.

But then, I'm still on XP and don't know much.

What.

iOS is an OS, Android is an OS, Windows Phone 7 is an OS, webOS is an OS.

The icons are pretty dull. It reminds me more of some mall kiosk than a computer desktop.

I hate how cluttered the current trends are making interfaces. You know what I wanna see on my home screen / desktop? The gog damn wallpaper.

Those are all phone OS's you listed. I was talking like desktop computer OS's like Windows 7 and Snow Leopard. When I get a computer I want it to function like a computer, not a glorified phone.

Agree completely.

I'm pretty sure iOS, Android and webOS are also tablet operating systems. They suit tablets well.

If you're buying a tablet, it could have Windows 8 on it, and you'd have this new touch interface, but you'd also have the ability to go into the traditional Windows interface. If you're on a desktop, you'll never even have to see this touch interface. I don't know what you're bitching about.

you can switch between this or the default Windows desktop. Microsoft isn't that stupid.

Then how did Vista happen?
