What pitch do American bands tune to and why? Just randomly wondering, because when I played with an American band on tour down here we didn't tune (for some reason) and it sounded out. We tuned to concert A 440 and they sounded higher than us.
So, am I just skeptical or is there some difference in tuning?
A 440 is the international standard, unless you're playing period instruments.

I don't know how accurate those frequencies are, but yeah.
Maybe they just didn't tune correctly, lol.
