Title: Pressure Switches
Post by: hiromu656 on March 31, 2011, 05:22:01 PM
I'm not sure if this is something super simple or not, but I couldn't really find out how to do it and I've failed a lot trying to learn myself, so here goes:

I'd like to know how to make an object (which is capable of being pushed) be pushed onto a pressure pad and when there is that object or you on this pressure pad, something happens, may it be a switch, variable or whatever kind of tool there is.

Make it so that when you step on the switch it set's the player's x/y coordinates as variables, then sets the switch's x/y coordinates as variables. then have the movement or whatever and turn self switch A on. in that page have it parallel process and have it check to see if the variables are the same. if they are, then have it blank. if else, have the movement of the switch turning off and then turn self switch A off. I'm not at my computer (I'm at school), but when I get home later today I will take a screenshot of my switch to show you the commands.

Thanks for the help Johnny. Anyway, I understand what you mean, DarkCodeZero, no need for a screenshot. Thanks to you all as well for the input.
