So, I have a piano (well, keyboard; almost the same thing) and a violin. I can't really play either. HOWEVER, I feel like if I practice, I will get better. No?
So, I was wondering if anyone had songs that I could try and learn for either or both instruments starting at a beginner level and then going up. Of course, learning two new instruments at once is kinda dumb, so I'll most likely be going with the one that I have more knowledge (from you guys) about. Or I'll just do both anyways because it's not like I'm trying to be pro, but I just want to have fun, lol.
So yah?
Chopsticks.
Yann Tiersen's work can be very simple and moving but extremely complex in technicality. Same with Final Fantasy themes.
What are some good FF themes? The only one that comes to mind is "To Zanarkand." :P

Ode to Joy's a classic for beginning keyboard players.

That's really silly in the beginning; it seems more like a compound meter. But is there any recording of anyone playing it? It always helps to have heard it first P:
And "Ode to Joy" is a bit easy. P: I mean, I don't have it memorized or anything, but yeah. I guess that'd be a good gauge to see how well (or not) play the piano.

This is actually one of the first songs I learned to be able to play from start to finish, the first being the Smashing Pumpkins Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
Work up from Beethoven to Chopin, making sure to stop for some Brahms on the way.
Brahms is very slow and easy, and so is Beethoven. The hardest you can get, in my opinion, is Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky.
Thanks, guiz. :3 I like the sound of the medley. I think I'll start with that.
Franz Liszt, if you want the impossible.

Erm.....which is why I suggested them. They are great for newbies.
