Recently I had to reformat my computer from scratch. However, the fresh installation has a system that is slower than a constipated snail trying to take a shit. My RAM and CPU are fine so I'm positive it's not a hardware issue, and I've no programs installed that don't already come with Windows XP. So the only possible cause that I can think of is that my drivers aren't updated properly, despite me installing the basic ones via the CD that came with my computer. I've never had to reinstall windows before on my own, so I'm guessing that the tech people who've handled my computer always updated my drivers for me on their own.
Is there a way to check which drivers can be updated/replaced all at once? Or does anyone know of another reason my computer might be as slow as it is?
Here's a helpful tip:
1. Press start, right click my computer, and go down to manage
2. Click device manager from the left side.
3. On the right side check for any yellow triangles. If you see some that means the driver for that device is missing and needs tone installed.
Please list any yellow triangles here.
To better answer your question further I need to know the following:
1. What OS, brand, model?
2. Reason for reinstall
3. Age of computer?
If you found triangles just google "toshiba support" or whatever brand you have.
