Title: Advanced Topic... Battle System Engine?

Hello everyone,

I've come here today to ask if the impossible can be done. You see I want to essentially use the RMVX battle engine in an RMXP game. Is there any way I can possibly do this, or anything similar? (If you're wondering why I don't use the RMVX engine instead,... its because I absolutely dislike the limited amount of 5 tilesets and the maps look 5 times better in XP then in VX...)

Well, I'm not sure if there is or not, but I do know there is a way for you to use XP tilesets just as easily as VX tilesets. Not what you're looking for though, so I'll do a bit of digging to see if there is anything for you.

Well, it does take a while to make VX map like XP because of the way it handles autotiles but it's certainly possible, just more work. Bulletxt has a script that should allow you to change your tiles so you can have unlimited ones and KGC has one that will allow you to change the passabilities such as 4 direction etc.

As for the battle system, depending on how "customized" it is, there is a huge chance that you will need to rewrite the script to XP format because of the difference in structure. I believe VX uses the same format as Sephiroth's SDK (in XP).
