Area Weather Effects
May 16th, 2010




Summary
Basically, a script that changes the weather depending on the AREA you happen to wander into. For example, A world map with a snowy continent, with an area that determines the monsters you encounter. Once you enter that area, the weather changes to snow.

Well, you could use this script: Switch Operations (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,37671.0.html)

and then just have a parallel process running in the map that checks the value of the area switch and turns on the appropriate weather effect when it is true. Depending on how many you need, it is feasible. If you're worried about lag, you can just put a few wait frames at the end (or throughout) the parallel process.

Also, I used three different switches in the demo, but you could have done it with only one. I just did that to make it more clear. I'm glad it works for you though. Change the tag in the title to [RESOLVED] if it is sufficient.
