Title: Red Dead Redemption
Post by: strike on May 13, 2010, 04:04:48 PM
okay so here's the thing. I put 5 bucks down on it, and I'm still not sure if I want to buy or rent. I reserved it in case I decide to get it it'll be there with the preorder bonus.  It looks really good but I'm on the fence as to whether i'll play it enough for it to be worth it.

What are you guys thinking about this game.

Well since the multiplayer has the entire single player world available for free-roam and you can make posses and ride around terrorizing the west, I think you should buy it TWICE. Because right now I only have 3 members for sure in my posse, and I need 8 :(

I got it, but I just started it. So far it's pretty cool. It's pretty much Wild West GTA, moreso than any other sandbox game, but I guess that's understandable since Rockstar made it. The scenery is beautiful.

I'm totally buying this. This (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1iH1oH1qZ8) is what sold it for me.

It looks like it uses the same engine as GTA IV (which I loved), it's getting excellent reviews, and it looks tons of fun. I'll probably even get XBL Gold again.

I reckon I could join your posse, pardner sword.

There is nothing more fun than lasso'ing a guy off his horse and dragging him through a cactus field.

Ok well for such an amazing game this topic died fast. I beat it a couple of days ago and I'm still addicted to it. For someone looking for a unique long ass game (about 20 or so hours for the campaign) with awesome multiplayer, get this shit.

I stopped playing when I got Blur, but I do feel like I'll go back to it at some point. It is great, though.

The story wasn't very "westerny" like the old movies. Which is understandable because it takes place in 1911, but then the ending just comes and takes a big western jizz in your face.
It's a lot like 3:10 To Yuma
