Title: Turning off a waterfall?
Post by: shintashi on April 18, 2010, 10:57:47 PM
I have a 2x6 tile waterfall I want to be able to 'turn off' using a switch or something, to reveal a cave entrance beneath.

Is there a way to do this? It seems like it wouldn't be a problem except I don't know how to target multiple tiles, or moving tiles that are part of a pattern. Seems like whatever the solution is, it would be useful for other things like acid, lava, and so on.

Thanks ^^

Only way to do this with events is to 12 events in that same 2x6 grid that you mentioned each event with a different section of the animated waterfall. Of course, make sure you have the events animating. Also, make each event 2 pages. The second page will be ON if you turn on a switch. So when you want the waterfall to go away, turn ON the switch and the new page will be moved to but without the waterfall graphics. Also, the waterfall graphics will have to be character sheets, you can't just pull an autotile into an event.
