Just got it. I'll be posting my first impressions a little later.
cool, I liked the first one, interested in hearing about this one.
Roommates and I are about to start playing it now =o
Played for around an hour, shit is cool so far.
Also, soundtrack: http://www.mediafire.com/?2zmomdzmzzz
Ok, maybe I'm stupid in the early mornings, or they made this one a little harder than the first :|
They made it a little harder.
How much harder? I played the first one and got turned off, after I was able to beat up a Big Daddy with my fists only, not using any special powers whatsoever. I stopped playing shortly thereafter.
i liked the first one, the second is real good so far, yet i raged when i got told the big daddy on the front looks like bomber man -.-

first one was cake
First one really did have no challenge. It was mostly like reading a book for me, rather than playing a game.

Finished. God damn that got hard towards the end, even on easy difficulty. I loved the story; I had my doubts but they surprised me with it. I wasn't expecting to be able to play as a little sister either, that was weird. They still include stuff I ignore (hacking, just buyout, money is so easy to come across) and that camera thing.
It's great that FINALLY you can use plasmids and your weapon at the same time. You can release a constant stream of lightning with shock 3 on 2 big daddies while simultaneously shooting them with armor piercing rounds. They can't even move ;D.
The atmosphere was great, It managed to make me jump quite a few times. The somewhat hidden audio diaries I found that filled in unanswered questions left over from bioshock 1 were a nice treat too. I just liked finding lots of little treats here and there, everything felt very polished, not rushed =o
Me likes, I think I might play through again in a week or two and go for the bad ending. This time I rescued every little sister, didn't kill the NPCs (but did mercy kill that thing in the tank) and got what the internet tells me is the best ending. :tpg:
Roph I love you.
Also, I loved the game.
Great, now there's a shitty game in the banner.
chewey only plays Pokemon and Love Love Gay Hearts
Bioshock was already pretty dull outside of its atmosphere. I've not heard much good about Bioshock 2 in terms of anything, including atmosphere. The development team of Bioshock 2 since its conception was different from the original, and since then it's passed through several other hands. There's plotholes and characters that drop out of the game for no reason. There's repetitive scenery and poor design compared to the original.
And there's really shitty multiplayer.
I haven't played the game because I don't feel like paying ~$80 for what is essentially Bioshock, but not as good.
I play good games like Mass Effect 2 :)

I don't know about the game... but the banner is way cool.
Bioshock 2 just feels like a map pack for the first game. Most overrated game of 2010.

You loved Modern Warfare 2 also, so your opinion on games is pretty much shit.
I have to agree with Roph on this one , I liked the first one and tried out 2 at my friends' house.
It's one of those games that you either love or hate I suppose.

MW2 is really only good with friends, other than the campaign.
I should add that I really didn't like the first Bioshock
The morality choices are so black and white and only have an effect on the ending you get and nothing else.
I liked the atmosphere a lot in the first, though :) I've just heard from most people that the atmosphere in the second doesn't compare to the first, and is often repetitive.
Everybody go play Mass Effect 2 you dickfaces.
chewey has opinions on things, and go figure they are the exact same as rasse. :V
anyway I played it, it's really good but not as good as the first one. that said it's only slightly inferior and is still really awesome, the ability to use plasmids and guns at the same time makes for even more strategy when dealing with foes. though i felt like as a big daddy you died FASTER than jack ever did, was this just me?
I only just now spoke to Rasse about Bioshock. I had no idea what his thoughts on the series were at all. All he told me is that he is able to troll you very easily by saying the series isn't very good.
He's also correct when he says it isn't very good.
Being a successful troll and thinking you are a successful troll are two different things.
Getting cranky about things means you got trolled :police:
The original Bioshock is one of my favorite games, and Bioshock 2 on its own isn't a bad game by any means. But it's really just the original - again. It's the same thing with some minor exceptions. It's an expansion pack.
The biggest problem I have is that it shouldn't be a FPS. Bioshock does an amazing job with setting the mood, and the FPS aspect just detracts from that and feels out of place. It probably would have been better going the survival horror route, since it seems that's what it tries to do anyway. But then again, there's nothing "horrifying" about this game. You're fighting people.

You also like to cover up being cranky
I WONDER WHY ??? ???
um, cover up?
I only made him think I was getting trolled
disagreeing is trolling.
Posting is trolling.
breathing is trolling.

You guys are all =|
Anyways, I think Bioshock 2 sucks cuz my computer can't run it~
I liked bioshock 2 over the first. If you call bioshock 2 repetitive, you'd have to admit that bioshock 1 is more repetitive. There's next to no backtracking, and much less (I can't actually remember any) of that ~spend half an hour going all over the place to proceed 30 meters further into the map past some arbitrary blocked area~ stuff. Sup arcadia.
I understand why it might be called just an expansion pack to Bioshock 1, but that's the entire point - it's a sequel, you're going back to the same place. Of course it's going to be similar looking, it's not like they built half of rapture different. They removed my gripes with the first (can't use plasmids and weapons at the same time), annoying and more tedious/boring puzzles.
I also can't imagine another genre working in that setting better than FPS.

Roph is my favorite in this thread :)
eh yeah the games story didn't really fit. but it was still fun to play. man this and the mass effect 2 review were really meh but the dantes inferno one was hilarious
I liked some of the jokes in that one.
wallowing like a hippo in a vat of liquidized children
more leaks than British military intelligence
mashing candy bars against my face plate
GRR YOUR SELFLESS COMPASSION FILLS ME WITH MURDER FRENZY
that's why I watch Yahtzee anyway though, for his clever manner of speaking.
those were funny still thought the overall review lacked good points. the Bioshock 2 one had some but the mass effect 2 one was a shitty attempt at a tear down. it's pretty obvious he liked the game when he could only come up with "BUT BIOWARE IS KNOWN FOR GOOD WRITING SO CLEARLY THAT DOESN'T COUNT ANYMORE" and "HURR DURR MINING SUX"
Zero Punctuation isn't about a game review.
It's about witty humor and degrading remarks about popular franchises.
Except Portal.
All the shit he says is right, though.
