I want a tutorial for animating monsters in rpg maker 2003. Does anyone have one or know one?
Do you mean the battlers?
Sorry to say, but in the default RM2K3 system (with the exception of the "float" effect) the monsters are stationary as far as animation goes.. Seems kinda unfair considering the levels that you can customize the hero sprites at.
I'm not familiar with the 2k3 battle system, however, would it be possible to have a 1-pixel dot as the enemy graphic, and then have a battle animation overlay, which is of the actual animated monster?
You could make the enemies skills an animation of the monster... ;8
Yeah but if you Have it show A skill with a Animation that looks like the Monster it looks like theirs 2 monsters..... ive seen some rm2k3 battles that are animated
well, you can always just block out the original monster graphic with a picture that looks like that section of the background.
How would you do that?
Well, you would include in the animation set a picture of that section of the background and in each frame of the animation put it over where the character appears. It would have to be a little planned out. I haven't used 2k3 so there might be another way. One of the VX sample games does something like that though, the one with the robots.
