My PC did something weird two days ago.
I was using my 8 GB USB stick and when I disconnected it, the icon didn't dissapear.
And when I tried to open it, it worked and all that. Just as if the stick had been connected.
I could even save edited files.
I restarted the PC and then everything was gone.
This has just happened to me once but I thought I should tell either way.
My question: Is there some kind of cache or something where the files could have been copied to?
I'm using XP.

Its called a delayed write fail. Your data needs to be recovered from your flash drive if you need it back. How important is your data?
Well quite important. But everything is stil left on the stick.
I just wanted to know what happend. And now I do! ;D
And it wasn't any big changes I made so I can just redo 'em again.
Thanks for the answer!
Go to the hardware properties of the device to change write caching settings for it =o
