WHY WAS I NOT AWARE OF THIS!?

The 3rd Birthday.
The third installment in the Parasite Eve series.
Created/designed by Yoshinori Kitase (writer/director of Chrono Trigger, and Final Fantasy VI, VII, and VIII)
and Tetsuya Nomura (writer/director of Kingdom Hearts, character designer from FFVII and FFVIII),
with composer Yoko Shimomura (Parasite Eve, Legend of Mana, Kingdom Hearts, Super Mario RPG).
Too bad it's a PSP game, and will probably be underwhelming and not a completely serious game, like most games on portable consoles.

Been watching this since the Wikipedia article was a wee lad of like 4 lines and nothing more.
Can't wait, probably going to pick up an old, cheap and hackable PSP soon.
It's going to be a shoulder-view third person shooter a la RE4. It's not even being made by the people who made the first two and it's viewed as a spinoff. Although I'm pretty excited over it too I won't get my hopes up for it.
I'm pumped for it. PSP games are surprisingly good.

Yeah, but look who IS making it, which I made a big deal of in my first post. Those two guys have been behind some pretty fantastic games, especially story-wise.
Besides, Parasite Eve 1 wasn't created by a game designer, it was based off of a book someone wrote.

And he had nothing to do with the sequel, which is why it sucked so hard.
HexaDrive has made like one game before IIRC and it had a mediocre success (I should add that it was an Xbox LIVE Arcade game. More like a college programmer project). I've played both games, read the book and seen the movie and am a bit scared over what these guys can and will do. It'll be their first real game, so to speak. But it's still a guaranteed buy of course :3 Based on what you see in the promo stuff the graphics are really good, especially for the PSP.

The only trouble with psp videos like that is they blur, so you really don't see how pixelly and jaggy things sometimes look.
