Title: Possible to use more tilesets?
Post by: ChoedanKal on November 03, 2009, 09:51:22 AM
Sorry for creating so many threads, but I've yet another question.

Is it possible to use more than 5 (tileA - tileE) tilesets?
The tilesets for B to E are limited to 512 by 512 right? Or could I just put in a bigger image and hope that rpg maker vx will accept and displays everything correctly?

I'm seriously having trouble deciding what images I want  :-\ I keep finding better and better images and keep finding things that I think could be useful. Am filling up my TileE right now....

The best you can do is swap tilesets, with this: http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,33095.0.html

There are others out there; I'm not sure which one is the best because I haven't used them.

use the script MA gave you, and this one. http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,33798.0.html
it's from bulletxt as well, it's a GUI so that you can see what you're changing in the editor while using the script that MA posted. They go together.

Hmm, thanks for your help guys.

I've looked through the script and don't think its worth the trouble.
I mean, I am still limited to tileA-tileE. I was thinking of something that would let me have a huge database of items to choose from, whenever I feel that I need something.

I suppose I just need to do some planning and create my own custom tilesets, weeding out those things that i don't like and leaving those that I like in.

Well in that case, no, it's not possible to have a massive amount of resources like that, and you should always be organizing everything you do for your game. I don't think it'd be that difficult to use the scripts if you organize it very well.
