Title: 4 directional passability?
Post by: Ocean on September 12, 2009, 09:30:19 AM
I know RM2k3 had this, and I'm reasonably sure RMXP did as well, but it seems to be missing from RMVX. I'm mostly an RM2k3 user and this is my first project with RMVX so forgive me if this has been answered before or if there's an easy method and I just didn't see it.

But yeah, I want to be able to set a thin railing on stairs or something without it blocking my character fully, but also not letting them walk right off the stairs.
Here is an example. If my character goes to the stairs next to the flowers, she can walk right off of the stairs onto the flowers. If the railing is blocked, then I'll just be completely blocked. If I have the areas next to the stairs blocked, that is a problem when I'm down there and not on the stairs. Same would happen to the side of that building.

Is there any way to fix this, or script available for it?

This might be of interest:

The one called "KGC_TilesetExtension" should do the trick. It uses an external program to work, so you'll have to download the entire KGC demo and copy everything you need from there. I hope this helps! :)

Yeah, that script and program works like a charm, the only issue is that vehicles don't work the same way. Whatever you set as a passability for your characters will be completely forgotten for the vehicles. They'll be fine once you're out of the vehicles though.

Thank you! I downloaded it and will check it soon. I don't need vehicles so I'm good there.
