Practically a first person shooter with heavy RPG elements. Apparently it's been in production for AGES and it's nearing release. There's been a heavy focus on balancing vehicle combat and foot combat, including the fucking awesome feature to leap out of your own vehicle to another player/NPC's. The game takes heavy influence from Diablo, with apparently an upward of 650,000 different weapons due to the idea of Diablos infinite weapon system. They take a base set of about 100 weapons, and the rest are anything from light modifications like a laser sight to heavy mods like taking an AK styled weapon, and putting so many customizations on it, that it becomes a heavy plasma rifle. The modifications can't be removed unless they are replaced by another one if they are heavy enough, so you run out into a firefight with a heavy plasma rifle and realize "HOLY SHIT THIS IS HORRIBLE." And then you can't just switch it off and go back to firing bullets. Different bullet types like hollow point and full metal jacket to homing darts and tiny shotgun shells can be used, practically anything you could possibly think of is possible. Another heavy influence from Diablo is a randomly generated landscape, so the game is always cycling and never the same as before. The setting is practically a bunch of raiders and dirt poor killers drive around on beatup vehicles trying to kill each other for technology, ala Mad Max.
too long for you to read?

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on this game. It looks fantastic, the Diablo influences are great, I always loved the randomly generated environments and weapons.
The graphics are spectacular and hopefully they will be a great character creation system. I'm really curious about the story too...
This looks really sweet, but I have to disagree about random environments in a FPS. I'll tell you why, so as not to sound completely disagreeable.
In a game like Diablo, having randomly generated floors is perfectly acceptable, because you can see over walls. If you notice a corridor has nothing at the end of it, you can just avoid going down, and save yourself some frustration. Now, in an FPS, you could spend hours reloading and trying to get to a particular place, only to find that a dead-end with no redeeming value was randomly placed there. This is one of the main reasons that I can't stand Hellgate: London. I'm not saying that there isn't a way that randomly generated FPS maps couldn't work, I'm just saying that I'm a little skeptical about them, because of what I have seen in the past.
I think the only randomly generated areas are the desert landscapes. :X

I see your point and it makes perfect sense, but I think Anski is on the money.
There's probably going to be randomly generated enemy camps and probably caves. Seems unlikely that they would have it generate dead ends even if they do make it like that. EDIT: Or at least that many dead ends, like they did in the Diablos.
