A while ago I set up a topic (Around february) to show a attempt at trees. And recently I found some scribbles that looked like monsters or lizardy people. So I re-drew them on computer and I'm trying to see if they would pass as battlers (Side-view).
Now I want feedback before actually finishing them. (Tree's already finished but need feedback before finishing tileset)

Please help me decide whats good or not.
Okay, tree's have leaves. You need to show them, the first one is a bunch of lines. Second is completely flat. The third being mostly with texture shading, still looks like crumbled paper. =P
Look at how the RTP tree's are done, it should give you a good idea to begin with. Be careful that you don't end up making the tree look like cotton candy, if you shaded it too randomly.
The battlers are creatures who must have some type of anatomy, unless they don't. Try to sprite it, in a more organized manner. Not in a way that they're flying all around the place.
Well I've updated one of them, is it better than before?
