I don't want to be rude to you Grafikal, but a solar eclipse is a pretty common image to find, not exclusive as Heroes' logo. So, if he wants to use it, let him. The fact remains though that the title picture sucks, put bluntly. At the very least Wlachen, try having legible words by having a light text on a dark background or dark text on a light background.
Admittedly yes. He could still use it, but it still remains that it's extremely similar if not, the same, as the logo. Yeah, it's an eclipse, but I google eclipse and only find 1 image that's similar to the logo, or solar eclipse and find 2 or 3 that are similar. It's a coincidence that it happens to be almost the same as the logo. That's all. It'd be a lot better if it didn't remind anyone of something pop culture. ._.
I like the general concept. Its simple and clear. You probably just need to keep working on it and try various modifications. I would start with the font. I'd stick with a simple font, but one that has a little more style. If you are going for a sci fi feel then maybe OCR A Extended, or Lucida Console.
Maybe try a different tone of gray, one with less blue in it. You might want to try putting the ecplipse graphic a little lower, the screen seems a little off-balance (top heavy).
