Title: Mobile installation issues.
Post by: Thrust on May 13, 2009, 01:46:06 AM
Not sure if this is even fixable, I'm attempting to install the program on my flash drive, but as it stands every time I remove the flash drive and move it to a different computer it tells me to re-install the RTP.  Is there a fix for this?

RPG Maker uses a specific file route to the RTP resources. Because you are using RPG Maker on a computer rather than the flashdrive, it checks the file route on the computer. I think Enterbrain did it so that they could earn a little extra money from people buying the program on seperate computers. So, no, I don't think there's a way around that. Maybe someone else can prove me wrong though.

I figured as much.. I was hoping one of you had come up with some clever way around it.  Thanks for responding Zy (can I call you Zy?), I appreciate it.

I'll keep working on trying to get a way around it, hopefully if I don't find it someone else will

Look around the program for the ability to change the RTP location?

Also it may involve messing with the files of RMVX to force it to think it is somewhere else.
