Title: Looking a specific type of script
Post by: DarkClawtooth on February 04, 2009, 01:35:05 AM
I do not mean to take up space nor to sound like a moron, I have never used scripts before and I am trying to make an action type game, where I can use modern weapons and attack enemies without ever going into a battle screen.

Problem is I do not know what to even look for, I assume it would be a battle system of some sort but dont know where to look or if one even exists

Basically, Ive got a modern day game going where you play as a cop and I want to be able to use modern weapons as well as make it a bit more realistic by cutting out battle screens and having battles take place on the game maps.

Again I aplogize if this post was not needed, was just lost and hoped that someone would see this and point me in the right diraction

thanks

Please take a look at http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,19947.0.html

What you are looking for is something called an ABS. There are a few out there, the ones I know of particularly are XAS ABS and Blizz-ABS. I don't know where to find XAS, but BlizzABS can be found at chaosproject.co.nr

XAS can be found here: http://www.atelier-rgss.com/RGSS/Battle/XAS_00.html

It's in Portuguese.

BlizzABS (http://forum.chaos-project.com/index.php?topic=106.0) is much easier for the scripting-challenged to use, because it comes with a config program which makes it a snap to configure the engine's features.  (Weapons, enemies, skills, items, movement, etc...)

I'd suggest it for someone who doesn't know very much about scripting.  XAS is a lot more script-focused and you need to have a good bit of know-how to get it working properly.

edit: post 5000 :D
