One of the boss battles in my game features a single opponent, not very challenging to beat, but when it's defeated, a stronger monster appears and immediately attacks the heroes. I've tried to make it so that the second monster shows up immediately after the first monster's HP reaches 0%, but whenever I test it, the battle ends once the first monster dies. is there anything I can do to fix this, or do I have to have two separate battles?
try, instead of the monster being summoned at 0% health.
make it transform into the new one when it hits say...25% or so, and give it a little more health
there should be a 'transform monster' event command, I think that's what it does...
Okay, I tried that, and it works! Thanks!
EDIT: Okay, the monster is supposed to have seven forms, but when it gets to 25% the first time, it just transforms into the last form. Help!
hmmm...give it the entire total amount of HP that the entire boss encounter has
then have it transform at different percentages, based on where each HP amount was.
so say...the monster has 4 forms
it'd transform at 75%, 50%, and 25%
Hmm...that could work...
EDIT: ...or I could just Full Heal the enemy each time in transforms. Would that work?
that could work, you could try it.
I'm unsure as to if it only transforms the image or not though (and forsakes skills and stats).
I'll have to take a look when I get home or something.
1. Transform /does/ change the monster from what it was into whatever you want it to be. My level 1 test battle dude just got pwn't by a wussy monster which I had transformed into a boss one.
2. The Fullheal should work just fine, though to be safe, have it be fullhealed before it transforms. I don't think it'll matter much, but you never know.
3. NAMKCOR, your avatar and sig make my computer cry XD
