order from newegg and it'll save you at least 100$
Because his parents are paying for it, and it doesn't really matter to him.
Since you're spending a little over $900 in your list I'll consider $900 your limit, which leaves a little for the shipping.

A budget this high; AMD is just no. And I'm an AMD fan, but just no. Instead, you will be using a Core2 Quad Q6600 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115017). Yes it is last gen (65nm vs 45nm) but that doesn't matter and anyone who tells you otherwise is spreading bullshit. It has more cache than the comparatively priced 45nm quads, it has a higher clock speed than the comparatively priced quads, and (quite ironically) it will also overclock ALOT better due to its sexy multiplier.

You're a dumbass for pairing AMD's top of the line CPU with a budget nvidia board. If you were intent on going AMD you should be pairing a 9850 with a 790 FX board, or at least a 780. Instead you'll be using the GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128359). P45 is the last and greatest intel chipset for core2. P43 is the budget, P45 is the sexy. It's not an SLI/Crossfire (2 video card capable) motherboard and you shouldn't care about that. SLI is flushing money down the toilet, 2 cards do not give 2x the performance, and unless you're gaming at 2560x1600 resolution with 32x antialiasing then one nice card is enough. Which brings us to..

I'm an nvidia fan (have always used nvidia cards) but this round for the price ATI simply kicked ass. This Radeon 4850 1GB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102802) costs over $100 less yet will perform about the same as that GTX 260 you linked, depending on the game. It has a custom cooler (default 4850s are fucking toasty) and 1GB of memory (default is 512mb) in case you're going to be gaming at high resolutions or with lots of AA.

Meh, OCZ Fatal1ty Edition 4GB (2x2GB) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227334). Ignore the stupid bullshit branding, it's some of their good ram with a stupid sticker slapped on it. Normally it would cost quite a bit more, but it's on special offer making it currently way better than anything else available at that price.

Personally I like conservative neat cases, and the Lian Li A05B (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112130) is goddamn gorgeous. My brother actually has that case you chose, the nine hundred thing, and meh. One thing I can tell you is that it's god damn loud. Read this thread for a great review w/ lots of pics (http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=38415) of the case. If I was building something now I'd be choosing this thing.

Any old piece of shit will do (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106228).
Also for a few extras you didn't consider in your own list: Aftermarket CPU cooler (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186134), this will let you run your Q6600 at 3Ghz easily, 3.2 and beyond with a little tutorial reading / tweaking. Also, some Thermal compound (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007) to get a nice contact between your fat heatsink and the CPU.
