Title: Best Dial up?
Post by: &&&&&&&&&&&&& on December 12, 2008, 12:56:12 AM
Hey guys.
What's the best dial up I can get?
I don't care if it's the fastest dial up, I'm really looking for price.
I want to get something cheap, but not cheap and REALLY crappy. Just cheap and Ok.

Comcast High-Speed Cable

That's dial up? It doesn't matter, Comcast doesn't come out this far. =\
They said they would have to lay lines to our place, and that would cost like 3,000 bucks.

I can't get sattilete internet, because the trees are WAY too dense. I live in a fucking forest.

SO, The only thing I can get is DialUp. SO I want the best I can get.

Pretty much any dialup is the same.

You'll get 6/7kb/s maximum, and high ping/latency. Enjoy being in 1998.

can you get 3g in your area? Yes, the mobile internet service from your cellular provider.

you can use new routers that covert that into wifi:

of course if your looking to pay the monthly cost of 3g service plan and the cost of a router.

Honestly, aside from accessibility issues, you'd be better off getting a faster connection if you can. The prices are really not as bad as you might think, and the lack of annoyance more than makes up for it. In short, I wouldn't limit myself to dial-up only, and explore my other options. You might be surprised at what you find.

Also, 3g is expensive. I doubt that it would be something you're interested in since you're looking for cost-effectiveness.

I think he's fine with paying for things, or else he wouldn't have mentioned satellite highspeed internet but when it comes down to dial up, he'd rather not pay big bucks when crap is crap.  of course I'm not him.

I can get anything, as long as it comes from a phone jack.
I found an interwebs service that is 4$ a month. I think I'll get that.

I don't think anyone actually reads threads here. They just read the first few words of the initial post and then reply.
