Title: Game Testing Problem - Game Suddenly Closes
Post by: sonicchaos1993 on December 06, 2008, 05:26:01 AM
I just finished my RPG with RPG Maker and two of the Beta testers reported that it would suddenly close shortly after starting the game, during dialouge. No error messages come up, the game just closes. Does anybody know how to fix this, or what is causing it?

It's kind of difficult to diagnose a problem without the terms of which it happened. What were either of them doing, where were they at in the game, are they missing crucial data, etc?

From the reports I've found that it has happend in the first room of the game, during an autostart event that is mostly dialouge.
The actions and where it closed:

Allow/Disallow Saving: Disallow
Conditional Branch: Switch [0020: Dialouge I] == ON
Erase Event
:Else Handler

Does the game close when you come to a message containing the letter j?

Isn't that a problem with the PK edition of RMXP? I guess it would be applicable if he/she is using that version. I had that problem when I was using it. (Though I use the real thing now :P)

The message does not contain the letter j, nor am I using custom scripts.
