Title: Firefox 3 troubles

I just closed down firefox because it was taking up 400k of my ram.

does Firefox 3 never garbage collect or anything?
does anyone know what causes this/how to fix?

I'm only using the meebo addon if you're wondering about addons (because miranda IM never works at school.)

400k? Notepad uses more than that. You don't have a problem, you have a miracle.

He probably means 400MB.

Anyway, go to about:config, find "config.trim_on_minimize" (or create it as a boolean if it's not there) and set it to true. Then when you minimize firefox watch its memory usage =)

addons aside, how many tabs are you opening?

I have like 500 addons with 10 tabs and I STILL only get 150,000-200,000k

Mine uses around 300MB on full force :/
