Title: Windows wants me to reactivate in 3 days, but... (resolved)
Post by: SirJackRex on October 20, 2008, 04:35:06 PM
I just installed AnyDVD this morning, and after restarted, it popped up with the stupid reactivation message. Something about having your hardware change a lot since windows was installed.
I'm running XP Professional SP2, it has a key, but I'm pretty positive that it's a cracked version. I have no way to reactivate it since I don't even know how to activate it or where my activation code is. (is it the register key?)
The big problem is, I have a lot of files, that would take forever to back up, and a lot of games. I don't know how to fix this, and I'm really kinda scared that I won't be able to fix it within the 3 day limit.  ;9
I'd really really really appreciate all the help.  :-[

You're pretty much fucked. The activation key is not your serial/keygen. It's this stupid thing that Microsoft added to keep people from pirating Windows. It used to happen to me, so I'd have to reinstall Windows a lot. There is a way to fix it, but nobody seems to know how. I've asked everywhere.

Thank you, but...
Ahh shit, so I gotta back up everything.... =\
So there's no crack or anything? That really really sucks. I don't know if I ever want to buy a microsoft product, so do I just reinstall it?

OSX doesn't have activation.

Torrent a new copy of Windows, put it on a new partition, copy your files, be happy.

WTF? OSX, that's totally irrelevant.  :police:
No, I'd rather just wait to see if Link finds the crack, much easier.  ;8

YAY, I found a crack on TPB. It worked like a charm.

Thank you for searching for me, though, very much appreciated.  :-*
