Title: What to do for a torrent I got
Post by: biohazard on October 19, 2008, 08:59:11 PM
I have a .bin file and a .cue.  What do I do?  I have not encountered this filetype before, it is trying to open in my VLC media player, but that's not right.

.bin and .cue are like .iso files. You need to mount it in Daemon, or burn it to a disk. The .bin is the data from the disk, and the .cue is the "table of contents" that stores the information.

Burn it to a disk. Magic ISO is a program that burns .iso, .bin/.cue, .mdf/.mds files to disks. It's like having the game disk. You could use Daemon Tools, and mount it to that to play it right from the file. I like having things on disk though, so I usually burn them.

Get Daemon Tools.

Right click on the icon in the system tray, go up to virtual CD/DVD ROM Go to Device 0. Select Mount. Select the .bin or the .cue file.

It should come up automatically if auto play is on.
