As those of you who frequent IRC will probably have noticed, slacked hasn't been as stable as it used to be. Recently, it's begun to netsplit as often as to make us reminiscent of AcidChat (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,29838.0.html). Because of this, we've decided to drop Slacked as our IRC network, and will now use PSIGenix.
If you're wondering what PSIGenix is, PSIGenix is essentially the new name of the well reputed Xelium network :)
What do I need to do?
If you use our online chat applet (http://rmrk.net/?action=chat), nothing. It'll automatically send you to the right place.
If you use an IRC client and you are configured to connect to irc.rmrk.net, the DNS mask has already been updated and (depending on your ISP's DNS, in up to 24 hours) will send you to the new locaiton. Ideally, using "irc.rmrk.net" as the location to connect to is ideal, as from then on you will never need to edit your configuration again, should we ever change in the future.
The real location should RMRK's nameservers ever have trouble is irc.psigenix.net.
Anything else?
You will need to register your nickname (see here (http://rmrk.net/index.php/topic,8371.0.html) for help with that but apart from that, nothing :)
All alone in #crankeye with Roph. ._.

Having some trouble with registration. Got the email, did the authorization code...but it's not telling me if it works?
Yeah, confused about that too. Other than that tiny problem I've had less trouble with this move than any previous one.
I TAKE MONTHS TO GET IT DONE AND YOU CHANGE THE NETWORK
you're good, but i'll get you roph.

I just registered a new name (blub) and I got the email and it worked fine =s

From old network =o
[10:12] -nenolod- {global notice} Our services database was wiped out with /dev/null being written to the array earlier tonight. This was the result of some sort of compromise. We're not fully sure (well, I have ideas) who did it yet.
[10:13] -nenolod- {global notice} Unfortunately, this means that your nicks and channels will likely have to be re-registered unless we find a backup somewhere. Unfortunately, it appears that nobody was making backups of the services database. My fault, entirely.
[10:14] -nenolod- {global notice} Actually, I had such a system to back up the databases, but the machine that was backing them up is no longer in existance. And I shipped the drive the backup was on to a friend in #atheme-project without realizing what was on them. So, that backup (from March 2008) has likely been eradicated. :(
[10:14] -nenolod- {global notice} Hmm, I am starting to look like a real idiot. Maybe I should stop sending globals now.
[10:20] -nenolod- {global notice} I should point out that this is especially ironic, given the backup-friendly format that our services store data in.
[10:25] -nenolod- {global notice} We have found a backup from March 31.
we moved just in time 8)
