Title: Basic abs setup?
Post by: Zambaku on August 28, 2008, 10:08:23 AM
Any guides on how to make a basic ABS system where you basically walk into the enemy to fight it?
Example:

Player walks into the monster. A variable operation between 1-2 or more if needed makes you hit or miss.
Example:
You hit (monster name), then it would be the monsters turn to attack, and a variable operation here would also keep track of hits and misses.
Also a way to input the weapons stats into the attack would be neat, and armor to the defence to reduce the damage taken.

ABS = complicated event system,

you're best off with a script.

Yes, but you can't script in Rm2k3 and I'm forced to work with RM2K3 since neither RMXP or VX has a dynamic dungeon generator. And No, RMVX dungeon generator creates static dungeons, not dynamic.

Why don't you stop being lazy and MAKE THE DUNGEON YOURSELF.

Or make the event system yourself, lol. No event system, to begin with, is necessarily that hard. You just need to plan it all out. Then, if you're a noob eventer like me, you'll stumble upon lots of hurdles that you need Zeriab veteran eventers to help you with.
